March 2010. A wedding you can really get your teeth into…

The Great North Museum: Hancock is one of the North East’s newest and most exciting visitor attractions but it now proving equally popular with couples who want a really memorable day.

Great North Museum Wedding Venue NewcastleAnd that includes being married next to the imposing skeleton of a T Rex, one of the Newcastle museum’s biggest exhibits.

The museum has a range of rooms available so that brides and grooms – or those who are entering into a civil partnership – can tie the knot and celebrate their wedding.

The flexibility of the space means that the celebrations can be intimate or on a grand scale, with the hiring of the whole venue also available as an option.

The Great North Museum: Hancock can cater for numbers ranging from 60 to 350 for a wedding breakfast and along with using the exhibition areas there are also a range of more traditional spaces available for couples including the Clore Suite which has its own patio or the Special Exhibition Room which can be partitioned into three separate areas.

Other options include The Hancock Café which offers stunning views of the landscaped front gardens and is ideal for more intimate wedding breakfasts or a drinks reception and the Victorian style Council Room which has breathtaking views, this time over the city.

“We have started to see a real increase in wedding bookings from couples who want to do something really different but at the same time do want to observe some of the day’s more traditional moments,” said Colin Perkins of Sodexo Prestige which runs the events and catering at the Museum.

“We have the luxury here of a range of different rooms and options which is making the Great North Museum: Hancock a very attractive option as a wedding venue.”
