HAMPDEN SCORES AS WIRELESS HOT ZONE
National stadium now has fast broadband connection.

 

Hampden Park, home of Scottish football, has added another honour – as one of the top wireless hot zones in Glasgow.

 

The whole 33 acres Hampden complex is now covered by BT Openzone, providing a high speed 8 Mb service.

 

The service has been brought by Hampden Park Ltd, the wholly owned Scottish Football Association subsidiary that operates the national stadium, and Prestige Scotland, which provides the banqueting and corporate hospitality at the complex.

 

“In today’s market place easily available high speed internet access is often at the top of a conference organisers list of essentials when searching for a venue.   Our  delegates are increasingly asking for a wireless broadband connection, “ said Cheryl MacLeod, Prestige Scotland’s sales manager at Hampden Park.   “Since it has become a wireless hot zone we have had a huge take-up of guests using the service.”

 

Added Cheryl: “Eight Mb is about as fast as you can get and Hampden is a huge place - which makes it potentially one of the biggest hot zones in Glasgow and certainly on a par with George Square in the city centre.”
