The Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms The Cabinet War Rooms, located in the heart of Westminister, is arguably the most historically important site in wartime politics. These secret underground rooms, which formed the headquarters of Sir Winston Churchill during Second World War, are all air-conditioned and feature the newly reopened Harmsworth Room. This room houses the generators which used to provide the electricity for the Cabinet War Rooms itself and the surrounding streets during the war. The Auditorium is a more modern room which is well lit and features its original bright steel girders. Picnic in the Park The package includes AV equipment, as well as flip chart and pens, pads, pencils, ration sweets and mineral water. Summer dinner package The nearest tube station is Westminster and Charing Cross Train Station is just on mile away. The Cabinet War Rooms, located in the basement of the Treasury building in Whitehall, was operated round the clock from the start of the war in 1939 to its end in 1945. For bookings and enquiries contact Cabinet War Rooms on 020 77660134 or email cwr@sodexho-uk.com. |
